SMART Shipping Rates & Rules is a Shopify app for checkout delivery method control and calculated shipping rules. The fastest setup path is to decide whether you are changing an existing method or creating a new calculated rate.

First setup checklist

Important Carrier Service split
Delivery customizations work on existing checkout methods and do not require Carrier Service. Shipping rates and combined rates are calculated rates, so they need Shopify Carrier Service. In the app, zone creation is disabled when Carrier Service is not available.

- Read Shipping rates and zones if you need country, city, postal code, cart, product, weight, or quantity pricing.
- Read Combined rates if several calculated rate parts should become one checkout option.

What to test before relying on a rule
SMART does not include an in-app checkout simulator. Test in Shopify checkout with real cart combinations and real addresses. Use a cart that should match, a cart that should not match, and an address at the edge of any postal code range.
